RHC IMZADI Consulting were approached by a FTSE 100 company who were keen to understand how they could best monetise industrial waste streams that they had been paying to dispose of.
Working closely with our client, we conducted a wide-ranging techno-economic study of the potential to convert and utilise these industrial waste streams for the purposes of large scale Energy Storage projects.
Annual deployment of stationary Energy Storage assets are expected to exceed US$50 billion annually by 2030 and will become the key enabler allowing a significant reduction in the need for back-up fossil-fuel-based generation.
Being able to enter this market with a product able to create a significant impact in balancing critical grid infrastructure was an attractive proposition to our client.
RHC IMZADI, developed a technology roadmap for the client, enabling them to develop an Energy Storage product with an estimated 30-year lifespan and an expectation of almost full recyclability.
In order to accelerate the development and deployment of the Energy Storage programme, our consultants also identified and introduced partner organisations able bring in technology synergies and routes to market.
Project NPV was calculated in excess of $800 million, with additional routes for expansion also identified.
